Packaging Workflow

Use this workflow for a general packaging discussion or pre-shipment check. Start by describing the item type and the condition you are trying to preserve. Clear photographs of the item and the proposed package can make a public question easier to understand when they contain no private shipping details.

Record the Starting Condition

Note the item format, existing wear, loose parts, and surfaces that should not rub or bend. Use neutral condition language rather than promising a grade. Photograph the front, back, edges, and any existing damage before selecting materials.

Choose Protective Layers

Use an archival sleeve or other suitable primary barrier where appropriate, then add rigid support that does not press against fragile edges. Prevent movement inside the inner package without applying tape, adhesive, or pressure directly to the collectible.

Protect Against the Outer Package

Choose an outer container with enough room for cushioning on every exposed side. Fill empty space so the inner package cannot slide, while avoiding over-packing that bows boards, cases, corners, or covers.

Verify Before Sealing

Gently move the unsealed package and check for shifting. Confirm that rigid pieces stay aligned, corners remain protected, and nothing can contact the item through the primary barrier. Reopen and adjust the package if movement or pressure is visible.

Keep the Public Topic Safe

Keep the discussion about general handling and packaging practices. A community topic is not a substitute for an order record, carrier claim, refund, payment decision, or customer-support case.

Do not post recipient names, full addresses, tracking numbers, payment details, order records, passwords, API keys, credentials, or private customer messages. Use private support for a specific order or customer issue.
